Sergiy Kovalets has been dismissed as FC Obolon Kyiv coach in the wake of Monday's 1-0 home defeat by FC Chornomorets, the tenth loss in the season for the capital club.

Obolon president Olexandr Slobodyan confirmed the reserve team coach Vasyl Rats will be temporarily in charge of the senior side. Without a win after first 15 matches, Obolon sit at the bottom of the table.

Monday’s last game between FC Illichivets and FC Metalurh Donetsk ended square - 0-0.
