Shakhtar catches up with Dynamo
07.03.2010, 19:15 | FFU inform service

Mirca Lucescu’s charges brought the pressure as soon as the game kicked off. Darijo Srna tried Metalurh goalkeeper’s vigilance. Having received a well-placed pass from Adriano on the left flank Hirnyky’s captain shot from under defender’s feet - Dislenkovich fixed the ball.

However, in 12 minutes the first goal-scoring moment  emerged at Shakhtar’s net: Kingsley shot an aerial pass from the left flank on Mguni who shot a short-range kick after a challenge with Kobin and missed.  Finally Shakhtar managed to score the only goal of the match on the last minute of the halftime. Fernandinho assisted Kobin in the attack who sent a shot into Metalurh penalty box. Gladkyy took the ball, and Oleksandr skillfully sent a corner shot farther from Dislenkovich with his left foot.

In a Saturday encounter FC Illichivets held leaders FC Dynamo − 1:1. The Kyiv side conceded in 77th minute with Roman Zozulia bringing the equalizer five minutes later. The draw still kept the defending champions with FC Shakhtar tied on points at the Premier League summit.

Another capital side FC Arsenal drew 1:1 the fifth-placed FC Dnipro who were reduced to ten men after Selezniov saw a red card in the additional time. The same scoreline was fixed after FC Vorskla hosted FC Metalurh Zaporizhia. FC Tavria recorded a victorious 1:0 result beating the bottom-placed FC Kryvbas. FC Metalist remains close to the leaders FC Shakhtar and FC Dynamo with eight points behind them. The Kharkiv team beat 2:1 the second-bottom FC Zakarpattia while the Premier League top scorer Koelho fired his 11th goal.
