Tough win for Dynamo
The White-Blues go into the Ukrainian Championship winter break on a high after their 3-2 away victory against FC Tavriya on Sunday. In a thrilling and exciting game Tavriya battled back from two goals down but failed to pick up at least one point in the match. Dynamo captain Artem Milevskyy gave his side the lead with just eight minutes on the clock and his striking partner Andriy Shevchenko doubled the advantage before the half-hour mark. But Vasil Gigiadze pulled one back on the stroke of half-time and Lucky Idahor levelled the matters midway through the second period. With match seemingly heading for a draw Artem Kravets, who had only been introduced three minutes earlier, had the final say, meeting Andriy Shevchenko's pass to put Dynamo in front just seven minutes from the final whistle. The White-Blues enter the holidays on top of the table and hold a two-point lead over second-placed FC Shakhtar Donetsk. The team will resume their training in three weeks’ time. In two other Sunday’s matches both Metalurhs from Zaporizhia and Donetsk celebrated their wins as well. Roman Grygorchuk’s charges swept aside FC Kryvbas 3:1, whereas Donetsk side were more adventurous beating FC Karpaty 1:0.

Home performance
Saturday match-day saw five teams benefiting on their domestic stadiums. So, FC Zoria, FC Arsenal and FC Vorskla won 2:0 respectively at FC Obolon, FC Chornomorets and FC Zakarpattia. FC Shakhtar sealed a 2-1 home victory against FC Illichivets who played the second half in minority after Oleksandr Kasian was dismissed for two bookings. Match of the day was FC Metalist versus FC Dnipro. Both teams displayed a good piece of footballing skill. In the first half Kharkiv side dominated possession and Dnipro left for the break 3:0 down. In the second half Bezsonov’s lads snatched the initiative answering back with two goals. Yet the outcome left favorable for Metalist.
