Hard victory of Dnipro

In a central match of the 16th round of the Ukrainian Premier League Metalurh Donetsk played in away match against Dnipro. The footballers of Volodymyr Bezsonov won 2:0. The first goal was scored by Osmar Fereira from a penalty spot. During the extra minutes Sergii Samodin doubled the score. In another duel Shakhtar has some difficulties with Kryvbas, but it managed to win − 2:0 − and returned to the second position in a tournament table. It became possible because of Metalist’s defeat in a home match against Obolon − 0:1. We should remind that the match between Metalist and Obolon was played at the day of inauguration of newly reconstructed Metalist Stadium, which has a claim on hosting some of the matches of EURO 2012.

Three points from Yussuf

A late goal from Ayila Yussuf helped Dynamo avoid a third consecutive draw and earned a 1-0 victory over FC Chornomorets Odesa on Saturday. Both Dynamo and Chornomorets squandered a host of presentable opportunities to take the lead. It looked like the ball just did not want to go into the net. Nonetheless, tribute should be paid to both teams, as they didn't give up and struggled till the very end. In the second half Valerii Gazzaiev's men started to put more and more pressure on their opponents, and when it seemed a goalless draw would be the outcome of the match, their persistence paid off. A cross into the penalty area from the left flank by second-half substitute Tiberiu Ghioane found Dynamo half-back Ayila Yussuf, who jumped over Chornomorets midfielder Sergii Melnyk and headed the ball into the net.
