Breaking news in Zaporizhia and Kyiv
In Zaporizhia local Metalurh managed to withstand the leader Dynamo. Kyiv side dominated on the pitch but failed to convert their chances into goals. Anyway, Valerii Gazzayev’s charges had a fairly excellent chance to snatch a victory in the added time after a handball of Adolf Tejku. Therefore, Artem Milevskyi came out to the spot but goalkeeper Maksym Koval was well placed. Another sensation happened in Kyiv after FC Obolon swept away Metalurh Donetsk 2:1. The host side opened the scoring due to Henrik Mkhitaryan. However, before the break Valerii Kutsenko set a leveler and in the second half Andrii Varanov sealed a win.

Leaders move on
FC Metalist Kharkiv moved back into second spot in the Ukrainian Premier League and closed the gap on leaders FC Dynamo Kyiv by overcoming FC Arsenal Kyiv 2-1. Milan Obradović's 65th-minute penalty completed the second-half turnaround and shortened the deficit on Dynamo, who were held to a goalless draw at FC Metalurh Zaporizhya, to four points. In the meantime, Shakhtar beat Tavriia at Donbas Arena. Mircea Lucescu’s men netted three times, yet leaving no chance for Tavriia to answer back.
