Another misfortune for Shakhtar
Last year’s champion Shakhtar keep frustrating its fans for the fifth match in a row losing important scores. In the encounter with Arsenal Kyiv Shakhtar coach Mircea Lucescu employed only one forward in attacking line − Yevhen Seleznyov. He was supposed to be assisted by five halfbacks. Shakhtar men poured down dominating possession, whereas capital side kept producing counter attacks. One of them nearly led to a goal, but powerful shot of Serhiy Symonenko found Andriy Pyatov. In the second half Luis Adriano came out on the pitch to support Seleznyov. He had several chances to open the score, but Brazilian international miscontrolled the ball in crucial moments. Thus far, the UEFA Champions League participant Shakhtar failed to convert any of their chances into a single goal boasting only eight points after eight rounds played.
Confident win for Dynamo
Ukraine’s another representative in the Champions League Dynamo had no problem beating Chornomorets in Odesa. Yuriy Semin’s lads marked twice in the first half with Tiberiu Ghioane contributing. On 9 minutes the Romanian passed from the left and Roman Eremenko made an emphatic finish. Twenty minutes later Ghioane got behind the opponents defense and netted after Miloš Ninković pass. In the second half Dynamo footballers extended their advantage with Artem Kravets who tested the goalkeeper twice and finally got the goal. He could even establish a double at the end but after he played a one-two on the edge of the area he targeted the bar.
Metalurh D keep leadership
Metalurh Donetsk keep topping the Premier League table after a 2:0 win over FC Lviv. The host managed to provide dominance even without the sidelined Vyacheslav Checher and Fernandes, and injured Serhiy Shyshchenko. However, Mykola Kostov’s side opened the scoring only in the second half. On 69 minutes Portuguese Mário Sérgio crossed from the right, his pass found Nigerian Sunny Kingsley who went on a slalom run, only to see his finish passed the goalkeeper. The victory was sealed on 83 minutes when Ihor Tymchenko darted in the empty goal after a combination of Kingsley and Dimitarov.
