Ukraine: Sarnavskiy, Shevshuk (Tankovskiy, 41), Burda (Schychka, 75), Kacharaba, Sobol, Kharatin, Lazarovych (Karetnyk, 80), Bilonoh, Radchenko (Kuzyk, 68), Habelok (Yastrub, 59), Tyschenko (Cherednichenko, 78).

 

Ukraine Under-16 team won the 10th edition of International Victor Bannikov Memorial tournament after beating Russia 3-0 in the final on Sunday, 19 June. The blue-yellows triumphed at the Memorial for the first time since 2006. Olexandr Petrakov’s side left a lasting impression winning all four games and scoring 17 goals.

 

The closing ceremony featured Lyudmyla Bannikova, Victor Bannikov’s wife, and Football Federation of Ukraine president Grigoriy Surkis who wished the players to grow from strength to strength and to go on to represent their nations’ Under-21 and senior teams.

 

As the tournament concluded, the players received personal awards with Ukraine’s Bogdan Sarnavskiy being named the best goalkeeper. Serbia’s Nikola Shakic took the award for the best defender, Turkey’s Taylan Antalyali received the best midfielder honour while Russia’s Denis Davidov was named the best forward.
