On Tuesday, June 10, Ukraine U-16 team finished participation in the VII Victor Bannikov Memorial contest with a splendid win over Slovakia. Unfortunately, the first and the last success of Oleksandr Holovko’s lads let them take only the 5th position.
Defense slip
Ukrainians put their dominance in the match for the 5th position. However, at the beginning of the clash the slip in their defense let Slovakia open scoring. But ahead they failed to realize any chance. Instead, Ukraine Ryabushko completed a hat-trick in the second half.
Triumphants from Italy
The same day later Donetsk saw the final of the contest between Italy and Poland. Players from the Apennines proved their supremacy in a stiff encounter securing a 2:1 win due to Shaarawi and Trotta.. Meanwhile, Japan squeezed past Russia in the match for the 3rd position, and Turks overcame Fins to take the 7th place.
