On Saturday, April 10, Ukraine WU17 team were let down by their defence, losing 3-1 to the Republic of Ireland at the starting match of the 2010 UEFA European Women's Under-17 Championship second qualifying round in Crimea.

The coach of the blue-yellows Mykola Lysenko said: "That was a tough match as the opponents were great physically. Unfortunately our leaders who recently played for Under-21 team in the qualifying are not in good fitness now".
