In spite of a defeat in the first match of Women’s EURO 2009 against Netherlands − 0:2, Ukrainian footballers don’t lose optimism and believe that they are steel able to get a pass to a quarter-final. This was told to a correspondent of the inform-service of Football Federation of Ukraine by a midfielder of the team Tetyana Chorna. “We strive for rehabilitation. Two games have left and we have an opportunity to change the situation”, she mentioned.
“We were lack of experience in the first round, because it was our first match at such high level. I think that we had to play several friendly matches more before EURO 2009… It’s a pity, but we didn’t get along with our excitement at the beginning of the match and as a result our reaction to the actions of the opponents was belated. We managed to pull ourselves together only at the end of the duel, but by that moment Dutch footballers were two goals ahead” − Tetyana summed up.
