On Wednesday, January 6, Ukraine Under-18 team got a victory in the second round of the XXII Valentyn Granatkin Memorial in Saint-Petersburg. As well as in the first match, in which our compatriots played a draw with Azerbaijan (1:1), Ukrainians scored an opener already at the beginning of the match. The midfielder of Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk Ruslan Babenko was the one who scored from a penalty spot. This time the footballers managed to get a victory and by this win they made a present for their coach Oleksandr Golovko, who celebrated his 38th birthday this day.
Nervous match
“The match was very nervous and it wasn’t clear who will be a winner till the very end of the duel.” The coach of Ukrainian U18 team mentioned. “It is only our fault as we were not quick enough and not all our players managed to execute the tasks which were put before them. Nevertheless, I want to thank my team, because we got the result.” On Friday, January 8, the ‘blue-yellows’ are awaited for by a difficult match against their Turkish coevals.
