On Monday, January 4, Ukraine Under-18 team drew their starting match at the XXII Valentyn Granatkin Memorial in Saint-Petersburg. FC Dynamo Kyiv forward Volodymyr Koval managed to open the scoring in the 18 minutes, though after the break Azerbaijan answered back with an equalizer.
Logical result
"The outcome is logical", Ukraine coach Oleksandr Golovko admitted. "Unfortunately, the flu infection affected six our footballers; even though they recovered right before the game, they couldn’t participate in it". The next opponents of the ‘blue-yellows’ will be Finland on January 6.
