On Tuesday, August 26, Ukraine U-17 team went to Poland were an international tournament Sirenka Cup will be held with eight teams taking part in it. In the first match the footballers of Oleksandr Golovko are to play with their coevals from Denmark. The winner of this duel will continue competing for the main prize.
Together with Shakhtar players
After a medical examination, physical and psychological testing 18 players stayed in the team and as a result they got into the team list. As a matter of fact the footballers of Shakhtar Donetsk also joined the team after the 8th international Braghin Memorial on which they were on the second place.
Starting in September
The tournament in Poland is one of important stages of Golovko’s team preparation for Euro-2009 (U-17) qualification. Ukrainians will play in the group 7 together with Switzerland, Norway and Iceland. The matches will be played on the 21st, 23rd and 26th of September.
