On Thursday, December, 6, the rewarding of Ukraine students’ team which was the first on the 24th World Student Games in Thailand was held.
Honorable guests
FFU President Grigoriy Surkis, Ukraine National Olympic Committee (NOC) President Sergiy Bubka and the first NOC vice-president Volodymyr Brynzak, the minister for family, youth and sport deputy Viktor Khrystoev, the head of the National Students’ sport society Vasyl Kremin, Ukraine Students’ Association president Vitaliy Pylypenko, the head of physical training and sport Committee of Ukraine education and science Ministry Vyacheslav Gamov.
Victorious way
We should remind that Ukrainians won Italians in the final match − 2:1. On the group stage they appeared to be stronger than the same Italian team (2:1) and Brazilian players (4:1). In the quarterfinal our guys overacted Uruguay (2:1) and in the semi-final won the hosts of the tournament Thailand (2:1).
Rewards for winners
After the greetings of Grigoriy Surkis and other honorable guests the procedure of rewarding started. The players instead of medals, charters and financial rewards got the titles of masters of sport of international level. The coach of the team Volodymyr Lozynskiy and his assistant Ivan Shepelenko got the ranks of celebrated coaches of Ukraine.
