Ukraine national team: when every match is decisive one
09.06.2009, 15:00 | FFU inform-service

On Tuesday, June 9, before the WC-2010 qualifying match against Kazakhstan there was a press-conference of Ukraine national team’s coach Oleksiy Mykhailychenko.

Without Shevchenko and Valyayev

According to the results of medical examination of Andriy Shevchenko, he won’t be able to take part in a match against Kazakhstan. He has hurt the mucle and needs about two weeks to recover. But Shevchenko decided to stay in the national team and support the guys in a game with Kazakhstan,” Mykhailychenko mentioned. “At the same time Serhiy Valyayev has left the team beacause of the family reasons. His emotional conditions wouldn’t have let hit help the team.”

New face of Kazakstan

While commenting the match Kazakstan − England Oleksiy Mykhailychenko stressed on a noticable changes in the game of Ukraine’s futher opponent, which could be seen since the time ‘blue-yellow’ team beat them in Almaty − 3:1. “A new coach renewed the squad of the team and it has begun to play another kind of football. Thus, during the first 35 minutes they used a collective pressing and acted quite more agressively and quickly than in the match against us. And their defeat 0:4 shouldn’t make us calm, because, for example, the first two goals were scored in a result of individual mistakes of the footballers, and it was not a result of tactical mistakes.”

The main thing is a victory

Oleksiy Mykhailychenko also said that it is very important for Ukrainians to win, but he avoids the talks about winning with as big score as possible. “We don’t know whether it will be necessary to count the difference of scored goals at the moment. At the same time we shouldn’t forget about such variant. My main aim is to make my team ready for coming into the field and getting a victory, for competent tactical actions.”
