Ukraine national team: English choice

On Tuesday, March 17, Ukraine manager Oleksiy Mykhailychenko revealed his 28-man squad for the FIFA World Cup 2010 qualifier against England on April 1st at London Wembley arena. The coach is set to restrict his squad to 24 players straight before the training camp as the UEFA Cup Round of 16 matches and 21st round of Ukrainian championship are ahead.

Two potential debutants
There are two potential debutants in the list of Mykhailychenko. They are a goalkeeper of Metalist Oleksandr Goryainov and a forward of Dynamo Artem Kravets. Stanislav Bogush, Oleksandr Kucher, Grygoriy Yarmash, Valentyn Slyusar and Oleksiy Hai didn’t go to the international tournament on Cyprus in February and now they have an opportunity to return to the national team.

Weekly gathering near London
On Tuesday, March 24, Ukrainian footballers will gather on Dynamo Kyiv’s training base in Koncha-Zaspa. At the same day there will be a traditional opened training and a press-conference of the team’s coach Oleksiy Mykhailychenko which will start at 4:30 p.m. On the 25th of March Ukrainian team will go to the city St Albans near London where the footballers will prepare for the match.

Ukraine team squad:
Goalkepers: Andriy Pyatov and Rustam Khudzhamov (both from Shakhtar Donetsk), Stanislav Bogush (Dynamo Kyiv), Oleksandr Goryainov (Metalist Kharkiv).
Defenders: Vitaliy Mandzyuk and Taras Mykhalyk (both from Dynamo), Andriy Rusol (Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk), Dmytro Chyhrinskiy, Oleksandr Kucher and Vyacheslav Shevchuk (all from Shakhtar), Grygoriy Yarmash (Vorskla Poltava).
Halfbacks: Oleksandr Aliev and Serhiy Kravchenko (both from Dynamo), Serhiy Valyayev and Valentyn Slyusar (both from Metalist), Oleksiy Hai (Shakhtar), Yevhen Levchenko (Groningen Netherlands), Serhiy Nazarenko, Maksym Kalynychenko and Ruslan Rotan (all from Dnipro), Anatoliy Tymoschuk (Zenit Russia).
Forwards: Volodymyr Homenyuk (Dnipro), Andriy Voronin (Hertha Germany), Marko Devic (Metalist), Artem Milevskiy and Artem Kravets (both from Dynamo), Yevhen Seleznyov (Shakhtar), Andriy Shevchenko (Milan Italy).
