Head coach of Ukraine’s national-team Oleh Blokhin called 20 footballers for the October matches of EURO 2008 qualifiers against Scotland and Faroe Islands. No new-comer entered the candidates list named on Friday, October 5. It’s worthy noting that this time Maksym Kalynychenko from Spartak Moscow wasn’t invited to the national-team lineup. Instead, Artem Milevskiy came back.

The FC Dynamo Kyiv defender Andriy Nesmachniy is recalled along with FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk defender Olexandr Grytsay, FC Shakhtar Donetsk centre-back Dmytro Chygrynskiy and Dynamo striker Artem Milevskiy. FC Spartak Moskva midfielder Maxym Kalynychenko, Dnipro goalkeeper Maxym Startsev, Dnipro midfielder Konstyantyn Kravchenko and Shakhtar defender Vyacheslav Shevchuk are omitted. Ukraine lie fourth in Group B with 13 points from eight matches and a game in hand on all of their rivals. Ukraine visit Glasgow on 13 October and then host the Faroese four days later.
