One of the highlights in the life of Ukraine's school grassroots football was the 21st FFU-UEFA backed international festival Open Fun Football Schools, which attracted attention of thousands of children, their parents and fans.

In August four international seminars took place in Crimea and Chernivtsi region. At these seminars there were special studies for over 300 leaders, coaches and volunteers from Ukrainian schools. Apart from Ukrainian participants, there were also their colleagues from Denmark and Georgia.

Different Ukrainian regions received necessary sport equipment worth around UAH 900 000. The OFFS festivals-2011 were successfully held in Ukraine during September and October according to such schedule:

The main events of OFFS ended with a great childish festival in the Ukrainian capital.

Before the festival leaders of the project Anders Levinsen (Denmark), Valerii Cholariia (Georgia) and Ievgenii Stolitenko (Ukraine) together with world stars of football Luis Figo (Portugal) and Davor Suker (Croatia) visited orphanage boarding school Maliatko where they presented the children with football balls and gifts.

On the 1st of October a grand opening of the festival took place on Sofiivska square. It became a part of UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour action. Every child had an opportunity to take a photo with the European club football's most prized silverware.
