Football country | | 10.05.2008, 15:30 | Bogdan Buga, FFU | |  | | On Saturday, May 10, Ukraine celebrated the Day of Football. Official festive events took place in Kyiv at National Training Centre named after Victor Bannikov, but there were a lot of interesting things to see in the regions.
Football in the center of attention
In all regions a lot of tournaments were held by Football Federation of Ukraine and by Regional Federations. In the Crimea there was an accent on child-youth football. For example in Sevastopol street football tournament took place in which 131 team of young men and 12 teams of girls took part.
Slobozhanschyna and Donbas: care about youth
In eastern regions of Ukraine professionals and amateurs young men and women children and veterans competed in their categories. In Kharkiv and Sumy several international futsal tournaments for youngsters were organized. Donetsk region concentrated main attention on the competitions for Leather Ball prizes. |
