Football Federation of Ukraine president held a working meeting with Minister on Family, Youth and Sports regarding the H1N1 virus epidemic that affected nine regions of Ukraine, and introduced measures meant to impede the spread among the population.
Grigoriy Surkis and Yurii Pavlenko analyzed the current situation and discussed the possible ways of holding national and international sports competitions. In particular, they spoke about the scheduled matches of Ukrainian Premier League and international games under UEFA-FIFA featuring Ukrainian clubs and National A team.
Leaders of the Departments accentuated attention that Football Federation of Ukraine and Ministry of sport in accordance with current legislation is responsible for taking concrete decisions as to organization and holding of football tournaments at the territory of the country. So, the boom around the theme about putting off or abolition of football matches is in fact appeared because of some incompetent persons, who don’t have appropriate authority to make any official statements on that score.
FFU president and the head of the Ministry of Family, Youth and Sport made arrangements to confirm common contingency plan already on the next week in order to coordinate the positions of the Ukrainian government with international football instances UEFA and FIFA in the conditions of excessive epidemiological situation.
