A line of actual points was considered at FFU Executive Committee meeting which took place in the House of Football on the 16th of July. Federation president Grigoriy Surkis expressed his thoughts as to especially resonance and important themes of the agenda. In particular he touched the problems of clubs and referees cooperation, keeping morally-ethical norms and Fair Play principles by football subjects and also told about the latest tendencies in preparation for Euro-2012 final tournament.
Pushing aside the referees
As is generally known it was decided to give to a newly created Premier League the right to push away unfair referees from their duties in order to extirpate the problem of prejudice refereeing and increase the level of Ukrainian referees. More than eight club owners have to vote for such decision if they want to push a referee aside. Club bosses used their right and the referees Zhukov, Vacks and Podushkin were pushed aside from refereeing at the meeting on the 15th of July in Poltava. FFU Referee Committee head Vadim Shevchenko proposed to work out a distinct mechanism of introduction of such decisions in their further work. He supposes that it can be dangerous, because soon there is an authenticity that there will be a deficiency of skilled staff for refereeing the matches of the championship.
Necessary measures
«It is a treaty that has to be executed and we have to hold up club owners. Let the referees work professionally, in unprejudiced way, responsibly. In such case there won’t be any deficiency of skilled staff, − Grigoriy Surkis mentioned. − And who knows, may be later Premier League will itself protect the referees… But in order to achieve this both referees and club bosses have to pass honesty, morality and professionalism exam. The clubs have not only penalty on the referees but also stop seducing them. FFU will find the opportunity to control keeping the principles of fair sport competition».
About Michel Platiny visit
At the very end Grygoriy Surkis told about the results of UEFA president Michel Platini last visit to Ukraine. «Representative UEFA delegation after its meetings with Ukraine’s President and Prime-Minister was ascertained that Euro-2012 is our National priority… Truth to tell, − FFU head mentioned, − dismantling of TEC Troitskiy was stopped just after Platiny left Ukraine. A few days ago I met him and he asked me whether it was a kind of a comedy or something else. I assured him that it is nothing but some technical problems».
