Premier League: the decision is by Executive Committee | | 21.11.2007, 09:45 | FFU inform-service | |  | | The theme concerning probable creation of Ukrainian Premier League was one of the most response on the last Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU) Executive Committees. As it is known on the 15th of November, 2007 a letter was received by FFU President Grigoriy Surkis in which he was informed that the decision to create Ukrainian Premier League (UFPL) was taken on the meeting of nowadays Major League club owners and directors.
Understanding and respect
The Executive Committee representatives admitted that they understand and respect such initiative from people who in fact finance Ukrainian professional football by their own. However as it was mentioned by the first FFU vice-president and a member of UEFA Judicial Committee Sergiy Storozhenko the final decision as to recognition of Premier League belongs to the competence of FFU Executive Committee.
FFU competence
«The Leagues or other unions of clubs on the level of the National Association are allowed only by its compliance and subdue to it. The statute of the Association the amount of powers which belong to such unions and also their rights and duties. The regulation as to such union has to be confirmed by the Association», − Sergiy Storozhenko quoted the appropriate article from UEFA Statute.
Demand for UFPL creation
«In accordance with aforesaid I supposed that the letter of club owners has to be de jure reviewed as a demand for UFPL creation, − the first FFU vice-president went on. − I suppose that in such a way we FFU has been informed about the intention of nowadays Major League club owners to prepare the packet of papers, to go through necessary legal procedures in order to unite into Ukrainian Premier League. In our turn we are ready to give consultative and sometimes practical help to the persons plenipotentiary of the structure that is being originated». |
