After the official logo, visual identity and slogan for UEFA EURO 2012 have been unveiled in Kyiv, similar events took place in other host cities. The first Ukrainian representative who picked up the baton from the capital was Donetsk, then Kharkiv joined and the final presentation was held in Lviv.
Snow and laser show
On December 16 the citizens of Donetsk came to the Anatoliy Solovyanenko Opera and Ballet Theatre in spite of a piercing wind and snow. City and region officials, leaders, who are involved in preparation of the region for EURO 2012 spoke to the people. Culmination of the holiday was a laser show and subsequent appearance of the logo, projected on the building of the theatre.
Impressions for the whole life
City Mayor Olexandr Lukyanchenko congratulated once more fellow-citizens with the fact that Donetsk got the right to host the matches of EURO 2012 and expressed confidence in staging the championship at top level. «I see smiles and happiness in your faces, − tournament Director Markiian Lubkivskyi addressed the citizens. I’m sure that you will remember the Tournament itself and the preceding arrangements for the whole life «.
Frost made no obstacle
People will undoubtedly remember the logo presentation in Kharkiv at the largest square in Europe − Svoboda square. And the flower representing the co-hosts as petals along with the slogan 'Creating History Together' have been illuminated on December 18 on the adjacent massive building housing Nadra Bank. Despite biting frost, nearly five thousand people came to eyewitness this event.
Present for schoolchildren
«Kharkiv welcomed a big football holiday. I am proud of our city and I invite everyone to enjoy the stay here in 2012», city Mayor Mykhaylo Dobkin appealed. Then he handed Boiko’s school apprentices a football presented by Michel Platini following their letters to UEFA President to confirm Kharkiv as UEFA EURO 2012 hosting city.
Fire show and theatre
Presentation of the official logo, visual identity and slogan in Lviv on December 21 launched with firework displays and performance from Lviv Theater Voskresinnya. The actors staged pieces of Gloria and Romeo and Juliet backed by pyrotechnical show. The pinnacle of that was UEFA EURO 2012 logo illumination at Opera Krushelnytska landmark building.
